1952-1968 All Classes Reunion
On September 4, 2010 an event long overdue occurred. All the classes of Knoxville East High School gathered together at the original site ( now known as Austin-East High School) for a reunion that brought over six hundred classmates together again! Many of the students had not been at the school since their year of graduation.
Cheerleaders from almost every class cheered, local television provided news coverage, the State Senator, the county mayor and local commission representatives were present, entertainment was provided by the school’s dance company, food was prepared by the high school culinary department, student diplomats guided tours throughout the facility and Austin –East principal Benny Perry welcomed all present. It was quite a day…one to remember.
